more about our history . . .
Denver's Department of Mountain Parks acquired four hundred acres, now home
to the golf course and beautiful Evergreen Lake, from the Dedisse family in
1919. Construction of the golf
course and the original clubhouse began in
1924, with the additional acreage for the front nine deeded to the city by H.E.
Sidles, president of the Troutdale in the Pines Hotel. Evergreen Golf
Course soon emerged as a haven for wealthy vacationers who frequented the
Troutdale resort. Troutdale in the Pines eventually faded into obscurity,
but the golf course continues to provide a memorable and affordable mountain
golf experience and a respite from the summer heat for Denver residents.
Keys on the Green began its fabled story in the early 1980s when
the original clubhouse was converted into a restaurant. Today we are
proud to continue the tradition of providing warm and generous hospitality
and sumptuous food and drink in a gorgeous mountain setting.
Surrounded by towering pines, the rushing waters of Bear Creek, and
occasional visits from stately herds of elk. Keys on the Green remains
a popular mountain retreat.
